The PSB Fitness Digital App, which serves as the gym’s central control system and technology foundation, defines PSB Fitness. To put it another way, the PSB Fitness Digital App is the “brains” behind our operations. While rivals also provide digital fitness apps, none of them are incorporating their app into the gym’s core operations or functions. PSB Fitness Digital App has an advantage in this area wherein it is a multi-purpose app that automates workout routines, including machine availability, for a technologically enhanced experience at the gym or at home.

Personalized for Your Needs-

Get custom exercise plans, workouts, and routines based on your specific needs and desires. The PSB Fitness Digital App will track your progress and set goals for you in order to provide you with the most up-to-date advice on how to stay in shape. All methods and means are tailored to you specifically in order to provide you with a one-of-a-kind experience. These customized regimens will be simple to follow and accessible through the app. Due to the effects of Covid-19, the specific regimens can also be followed at home via virtual workout sessions; those that do not require equipment.

Integration With our Technologized Networking Gym in Mississauga-

The PSB Fitness Digital App is fully integrated with our technologized networking gym in Mississauga. All gym-related procedures and processes are automated as a result of this. As such, the availability of all equipment and machines will be denoted as vacant or occupied; with the up-to-date status available through the app. To take it one step further, if the user is short on time or does not want to wait and have their body cool down, they can take advantage of a feature called “Stay in Motion.”

Through this feature, preprogrammed workout regimens are available for selection by the user based upon the availability of machines and equipment. Following their confirmation, the app will book all machines and equipment at the necessary times to ensure a continuous workout. An example being how the app will book the legs machine at 1:30 pm since the user will be working out on the arms machine from 1:15 to 1:30 pm. Overall, everyone will receive a proper workout with no waiting time, as well as enjoy the ability to reserve equipment and machines up to one hour in advance.

Connectivity and Networking-

To provide a unique experience, the PSB Fitness Digital App encompasses several key capabilities to perform as a multi-functional app. Firstly, it allows for integration with Spotify, Apple Music, or Audibles depending on the user’s preferences. It also provides live podcast streams, as well as updates and news about the gym’s activities, events, and other information. Furthermore, it allows user to use the app, in the same manner, they would a social media app; wherein messaging and social media functions allow for like-minded people to collaborate and work out in groups; creates an environment that encourages meeting new people while exercising, allowing for opportunities to expand one’s personal and/or professional network. Since March of 2020, the way we stay active is now completely different. College students were spending their time at the gym to practice martial arts to get a release. Now, they are spending all of their time confined in their bedrooms, expected to study, work out, relax and more. A new gym opening at the Davis campus in Brampton, PBS Fitness is a brand new martial arts gym devoted to helping its members grow as individuals. Founded by 2 Sheridan Alumni, they are bringing their fitness expertise back to the Bruins family. 

Live Virtual Classes

To accommodate for the government-regulated restrictions, PSB Fitness offers Live Virtual Classes. In these virtual classes, members can train at home in their preferred martial art form while still being motivated by both the instructor and their classmates. Members can access the live virtual classes in two ways: through the members portal through the website and the PSBF smartphone app

There will be no need to purchase any extra equipment for your home either. PSB Fitness offers an equipment loan program that will give each member the necessary tools to train as if they were at the studio. Once a member signs up with PSB Fitness while in lockdown, an employee will contact them to speak about what they would like to get out of their time with the gym. The employee will personalize a schedule that they see fit and recommend the proper equipment to take out for the time being. 

 

There are so many live virtual classes that PSB Fitness offers. Available classes include Zumba, yoga, pilates and three styles of martial arts. Muay-Thai

Women practicing Muay-ThaiMuay-Thai, also known as Thai Boxing is Thailand’s national sport and cultural martial art. It originated hundreds of years ago in the 14th century as a form of close combat where the entire body resembles munition.

Muay Thai is known as “The Art of Eight Limbs” because it uses eight points of contact on the body to imitate “weapons of war.” The hands became the sword and dagger. The shins and forearms were reinforced in preparation to serve as armour against strikes. The elbow is used to drop enemies like a mace or hammer. The legs and knees had become the axe and staff. When fighters are battling and attempting to spin an opponent to the ground, the knees and elbows are actively looking and checking for an opening in their opponent. The body works as a single entity.

Moral principles and self-discipline are in Muay-Thai as well. Muay-Thai also instills humility, self-confidence, and modesty in its practitioners. Muay-Thai is a ritualistic art form that integrates essential principles and lessons into its practice. For example, the fighter’s pre-competition homage dance is called Wai Kru. Wai Kru is a practice that shows a student paying respect to his or her instructor who supported them to become Muay-Thai fighters. The ceremony is a show of appreciation for the teacher, as well as the parents and relatives.

So, can you practice Muay-Thai through virtual classes?

Everyone has a unique situation while in lockdown but here is the simplest answer: Yes. As long as you have a 4ft-by-4ft area space where you can move around, you are all set to practice Muay-Thai in virtual classes. Currently, we have 4 nutrition coaches that are available across two locations, which are Mississauga and Brampton. PSB Fitness members can make weekly appointments with one of our nutrition coaches to measure the progress and ask any questions.

**Please notice, the nutrition coaching appointment will include:

  • Examining caloric needs
  • Educating knowledge on ingredients and food components
  • Generating evaluation and suggestion on member’s diet or meal plan
  • Performing body composition testing and dietary assessments.

PSB Fitness now offers a gym equipment rentals program in Mississauga to assist members with developing good habits.  Maintaining an exercise routine is a key part of a healthy lifestyle.  The program allows members to borrow equipment to participate in virtual classes, maintain their routine, and reinforce good habits when a busy lifestyle makes going to the gym a burden.

 

What is PSB Fitness

PSB fitness is the premiere fitness center for students in Mississauga.  With 2 convenient locations within Sheridan’s Hazel McCallion and Davis campuses, the new fitness club is designed for busy students looking to improve both their body and mind by developing discipline through exercise, meditation, and martial arts.  Memberships begin at $70/month, and allows access to both PSB Fitness locations, Nutrition coaching, self defense classes, virtual classes and the gym equipment rentals program.

PSB Fitness offers a gym equipment rentals program, allowing members to take home equipment for a specified length of time.  The equipment loan program allows members to maintain their routine and reinforce good habits when a busy lifestyle interferes with their regular work out routine.

About online YogaPlus and meditation

When you log into the PSB app, members search for either the meditation or YogaPlus sessions. Through professional instruction, trainers guide you through these sessions. For meditating, they suggest finding a comfortable, seated, or lying-down position. They would also suggest lighting your favorite candle or moving to a quiet room. Our instructors take you to a world of peace and freedom from negative thoughts with a calm voice and relaxing music.

YogaPlus adds most other elements of fitness to your workout. This includes weights, cardio, or circuit training. Instructors take you through each routine by showing the correct position and lifting techniques to avoid injury. So, we at PSB offer a range of meditation and yoga styles. The most popular being mindfulness and mantra meditation and Vinyasa and Hatha yoga.

After registering with PSB fitness, members then download the mobile app. Members have full access to recorded videos and scheduled classes which they can watch at any time.
