How I Discovered MAGIC!

My journey with MAGIC! started back in 2014 when I first heard their breakout hit Rude. The catchy reggae-pop sound was impossible to ignore, and from that point on, I was hooked. It felt like MAGIC! brought something fresh to the music scene with their blend of reggae, pop, and rock. I found myself playing their debut album Don’t Kill the Magic on repeat. Every track felt like a vibe, and it wasn’t just Rude—songs like No Way No and Let Your Hair Down became instant favorites.

The band is made up of Nasri Atweh (vocals), Mark Pelli (guitar), Ben Spivak (bass), and Alex Tanas (drums). Each member brings a unique energy to their music. Nasri’s smooth vocals and Mark’s guitar rhythms set the tone for a sound that really sticks with you. The group formed in Toronto, which makes this upcoming performance even more special to me as a fan.

The Magic Continue to Evolve

The magic are back - Live show

What’s great about MAGIC! is that they didn’t just stop at their early success. Their second album Primary Coloursdropped in 2016, and that’s when I noticed the band experimenting with their sound. They kept the reggae influences but added more pop and rock elements. Then, with Expectations in 2018, they shifted again, but that signature sound—the smooth rhythms and catchy hooks—was always there.

Over the years, they’ve played huge shows and festivals, but there’s nothing quite like seeing them live in a more intimate setting like The Axis Club in Toronto, so we can say that the Magic are back

See Them Live in Toronto on November 6th!

Now, here’s the exciting part. After a bit of time away from the spotlight, the Magic are back, and they’re performing live in Toronto on November 6th at The Axis Club. I’m already counting down the days! I’ve seen them perform before, and trust me, the energy they bring to the stage is unreal. It’s one thing to hear their music on streaming platforms, but experiencing their sound live is a whole different vibe.

They’ll be performing some of their biggest hits like Rude, No Way No, and hopefully some new tracks too. If you’re like me and want to be there for the magic, you can still grab tickets!
