Finding Dory Review:

A stunning movie with emotional depth.

Pixar is widely known for its high quality animated content and movies. Finding Dory of 2016 is one of the most popular film which also reminds of Finding Nemo of 2003. Now, the story unfolds around the forgetful and lovable blue tang fish, Dory, voiced by Ellen DeGeneres. helmed by Andrew Stanton, Finding Dory pretty much takes the story to much deeper waters, both figuratively and literally, tapping into ideas profound as identity, family, and self-discovery. Taking place a year after the happenings of Finding Nemo, Dory finds herself happily living with Marlin and Nemo but starts having disintegrating memories of her fragmented past concerning her parents.

The ocean journey unfolds as she heads towards the Marine Life Institute in California to reunite with her family. She meets both old and new friends along the way, including Hank, an irritable but clever septo-octopus, a seven-legged octopus, voiced by Ed O’Neill; Destiny, the most shortsighted alternative whale shark; and Bailey, the echolocating beluga whale. As one rightfully expects of Pixar, Finding Dory is a magnificence in shapes and colors.

Underwater environments are tinted in vivid colors, detailed, and immersive, forming an oceanic wonderland that is both magical and real. The animation team definitely outdid themselves by capturing sea creatures’ movements from the fluid swaying fins of Dory to the elaborate expressions from Hank on the camouflage capabilities. An extra sprinkle of lighting, along with reflections and water physics, fills in every scene with visual awe. Pixar treasures detail, where even minor background elements play a part in telling the larger modern tale. Ellen DeGeneres is brilliant as Dory, funny, warm, and providing an emotionally charged performance.

Unlike her comic reliefone dimensional personality in Finding Nemohere she has had an excellent back story and touching journey of self-discovery. Another highlight would be Hank the grumpy octopus. Ed ONeill is dryly witty and reluctantly charming, making him one of the most memorable Pixar side characters everAdding to that are supporting voices from Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy as Dorys parents in truly heartfelt moments that make their family reunion even more impactful.
From my understanding, Finding Dory is a story about overcoming obstacles and believing in yourself to do any task, either its hard or easy. Dorys short-term memory loss, which was primarily used for laughs in Finding Nemo, gets deeper meaning here. In her journey, persistence, adaptability, and trusting ones instincts do not go unnoticed. The film also does a great job in building up the idea of chosen family: While Dory searches for her biological parents, she coaxes out that Marlin and Nemo are her family, too
The theme of this movie belongs to and is about love, and that resonates very well with every age group. Finding Dory is outstanding in its emotional tale, strong female lead, memorable supporting characters, and Pixars signature animation quality. The film does juggle heart and humor almost perfectlysometimes pitting the tear-jerking moments alongside hilarious sequences.
Dory’s an unlikely, unique protagonist-inspirational, really, for her determination and optimism-while supporting characters in the form of Hank, Destiny, and Bailey create a rich comic textureIf Finding Dory lacks some of the epoch-defining dazzle of the originalthen it is an excellent sequel building on some themes from the first movie. It sends an important message of persistence and self-acceptance, and therefore, is a must-watch for children and adults alike.
I chose this movie for a written review because I recently visited the aquarium and there I saw a blue fish which reminded me of this movie and the values it holds. Even though, this movie is old as it was released in 2016, but still a masterpiece. I am also providing the link for this movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vj_jyAFTPs
